DIY Garden Clipping Holiday Wreath

4 Nov

This November I am participating in the Deck the Home Blog Hop with 26 amazing home decor and DIY bloggers. Over the next five week’s we’ll be sharing inspiration for holiday decor and DIY projects.

This week is all about holiday door decor and I thought I would share an easy DIY wreath using some branches and garden scraps from our yard.

DIY Garden Wreath Supplies

  • Small Branches
  • Garden Trimmings (I used honeysuckle, purple sand cherry and hydrangea from our garden)
  • Green floral tape
  • Brown wire
  • Pruning Shears

First, lay out three of your branches in a triangle shape and use the wire to connect them together. Lay more branches on top and wrap the wire around to hold them all together.

Arrange your garden trimmings around the outside of your triangle and use more wire to attach them to the triangle frame.

For small pieces (like my honeysuckle clippings) I used floral tape to make small bunches and then attached the bunches to the frame with wire.

Keep adding more clippings until you are happy with your wreath.

Hang, and enjoy!

I love how the green honeysuckle and purple sand cherry are festive yet subtle.

Stay tuned next Sunday at 9 pm EST for the next post in the blog hop!

I never would have thought to use honeysuckle on a Christmas wreath but it turned out so pretty! I absolutely love it!

I can’t believe you were able to make such a beautiful wreath for your door with things from your garden. Now I’ve got to start looking harder at what’s available in our yard.. The plaid blow really finishes it off so well, just lovely.

Some of my favourite projects are the result of foraging from the garden!! This is so unique, and your plaid bow is the icing on the cake!
