Is this the same hallway?? Swipe to remember the b Is this the same hallway?? Swipe to remember the before!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It's kind of funny how this area just naturally became a dumping ground for things that either needed to go downstairs or had been brought upstairs. Now it looks so nice I wouldn't dream of piling junk up here any more 😂
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I really didn't think Chris was going to go for a random table in the hallway that would "serve no actual purpose" but prob. 15 minutes after I took these photos he had already brought up more plants...so....I'm going to take that as his approval!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Do you have an area where stuff just gets piled to deal with later? What’s your strategy for keeping it clear?
Oh hello new paint 😍
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When I painted all our baseboards grey during our main floor renovation the fact it was darker than our wall colour was out of our comfort zone. I wanted to paint the interior doors the same colour but Chris wasn't convinced. Fast forward 2 years and I decided to just do it and you know what we love it!!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The navy on the inside of the front door helps add a pop of interest so it's not TOO grey and has the bonus of hiding all the scuffs and dirt from being kicked closed!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I'll be honest, now I'm eyeing all the window trim thinking it should match too...Shhh - don't tell Chris 🤔😉
We all know you can help support small business by We all know you can help support small business by purchasing their items, booking their services or buying gift certificates to give to friends or family, but what if you want to support a small business and making a purchase just isn't in the cards?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There are lots of other ways to support a small business without spending ANY money! Speaking from my own experience, whenever anyone does any of these things for me, I truly appreciate it. Every little bit helps ❤️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. Tell your friends! Maybe you're not the target audience for a business, but you probably know someone who is. Referrals mean a lot, the more people who know about it the more opportunity for sales!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. Engage on social media! Everyone keeps talking about "the algorithm" and while we might not know exactly how it works we know that engagement is HUGE. Save, share, comment on & like the posts of small business to show your support.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. Become a cheerleader! I'm not sure I've ever met a small business owner who hasn't at some point had that sinking feeling that they've made a horrible mistake, they don't know what they're doing and everything is just going to go tits-up. Help drown out those negative ideas by cheering them on and offering words of encouragement.
It's officially official! My entry and upstairs ha It's officially official! My entry and upstairs hallway One Room Challenge makeovers are finally done!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I really used this round of the challenge to push myself to clean up both these spaces and knock off a bunch of tasks that had been on my to do list for a while. I was definitely not stressed about finishing "on time" and yeah, this ended up being more like 8 weeks than 6 🤷‍♀️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But hey - it worked, I got all the painting finished that was leftover from our main floor renovation a few years ago done AND our upstairs hallway is now completely clear of "deal with this later" crap. That's a big win.

Now, I'm going to start decking these halls for the holidays - because hey, the only thing that would make that banister look better is a bunch of garland...right?
To all my American friends who have been celebrati To all my American friends who have been celebrating Thanksgiving today - I hope you found creative ways to celebrate with the ones you love while staying safe xo
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here in Canada it was a regular work day but tonight I plan to pull out the Christmas bins and start thinking about decorating this weekend...and taking a quick peak at the Black Friday sales starting tomorrow 😉
Thanks for visting!
