Easy gift ideas for do-it-yourself enthusiasts

DIY Gift Ideas

Looking for some gift ideas for the do-it-yourself enthusiast on your shopping list? I’ve rounded up some of my favourite tools and items on my wishlist to help you out! These are all either products I use (and love) myself or are on my own wish list!

Kreg K4 System

Kreg Jigs
I love pocket holes. Right now I have the Kreg Mini Jig which I highly recommend to anyone new to pocket holes. Because I now use pocket holes whenever I can I’ve added the K4 Pocket-Hole System on my wish list so I can up my pocket hole game.

RIGID Job Max

RIGID Job Max
I cannot say enough about how much I love this tool. Especially when we were doing our kitchen renovation we would suddenly find ourselves in need of something outside of a regular drill, sander or saw. Need to drill in a tight space? Cut away a small sliver of baseboard? Sand in one itty bitty corner? Hammer without any room to swing? Job Max.

Spray_Shelter

HomeRight Spray Shelter
This is another item that is on my wishlist that I don’t own yet. I have recently discovered the amazing power of spray paint and I love the idea of this tent to keep all the excess spray contained (and off Chris’ car).

Air_Compressor

Portable Air Compressor
Air compressors are incredibly handy, especially when you’re doing a renovation. We always borrow my brother’s when we have a job to tackle (like installing crown molding or recovering a chair) but if we ever invest in our own I would definitely want something portable like this one from Husky. My favourite tool to use with it? This combo nailer/stapler from Bostitch

mouse

Mouse Sander
Need to tackle from small sanding jobs? This small sander is my go-to for sanding small items before painting.

DIY & Home Inspiration Books
While most of my DIY inspiration comes from Pinterest I also love my books. Three on the top of my wishlist this year are: Happy Handmade Home, Young House Love and The Handbuilt Home

Tool Storage
Last, but not least tool storage. This bad boy from Mastercraft was what Chris & I gave each other for Christmas this year. It’s actually three separate pieces that stack together and it happens to be on sale right now at Canadian Tire.
