I’ve been completely crushing on this bedroom from the Lexington Home Spring 2015 look book since it popped up in my Pinterest feed last year. There are so many things about it love about it and thought it would be a great space to break down so you can recreate it at home!
Rustic Wood Headboard
To create this look at home, Wayfair sells a huge selection of rustic wood headboards and full beds. I also love this DIY plan from Ana White if you wanted to build your own.
Bench
The bench at the bottom of this bed is simply a piece of wood balanced on stacks of magazines. I definitely have the stacks of magazines, but this looks a little too precarious for my house. A simple wood bench would work well instead or one with a pretty tufted cushion. If you’re feeling handy Remodelaholic also has a great tutorial for a rustic farmhouse style bench.
Rug
I love the look of a white rug on dark wood floors. This one from West Elm would look great in any space.

Above the Bed
What, you don’t have a beautiful white fireplace to put your bed in front of like they did in this photo? Not to worry! A beautiful crown moulding shelf can help recreate this look. Top it with decorative wood vases, some candles (I love flameless ones), a large shell and some antique books. Finish it off with your favourite large black and white print.
