Spray Paint Plastic Planters

Last weekend I almost threw away some old (previously cream) plastic planters when I realized I could spray paint them instead!

Planter

I now recommend to everyone, absolutely use spray paint to make dingy plastic things look sleek and new. For my planters I used Rust-Oleum Ultimate in Oil Rubbed Bronze and I couldn’t be happier about how they turned out. My newbie tips:

  • Do spray paint on the lawn, it’s really easy to clean up because you just mow it off after a couple of weeks.
  • Do not choose to spray paint on the lawn directly outside your front door, your family and friends will laugh at you for making crop circles on the grass for everyone to see

While I was at it I also painted a white wastepaper basket that had definitely seen better days.

I’m on a roll! Browsing around I’ve found some great ideas for spray paint projects I might try out this summer:

Did I miss any? What are your favourite spray paint makeovers?
